Thank you to all!

Thank you to our regular guests as well as the many one time visitors that we've met.It has truly been a privledge to serve you and get to know you!
After three years in this location we have observed that as much as our guests love the experience we offerred at The Bistro, this market is limited particularly because of road travel on our Newfoundland highways and their limited lighting and signage.
We will keep you posted on our redirection and again, thank you for your patronage and valuable experience.

Winter 2009

Good Day Patrons and Readers,

Well that time of year is just around the corner... You know, when the precipitation has to be shoveled away and all of the sudden we're wearing about 10 extra pounds of clothes, just to check the mail. I suppose that it is inevitable and as Newfoundlanders we just have to make the best of it.

The good news is though, we will be open for the season and when you need a slight pick me up from the weather or just a piping hot cup of good Joe, we're just around the bend and we would be happy to see you. We will be closing over the Christmas holdidays from December 15 - January 15. It has been a great summer and our staff are well deserving of a break.

If you would like us to host your Christmas Party we would be happy to accomodate your needs. Please give us a call at the Bistro and ask for Kendra or Trevor and we will work with you to design a menu and party that will have your staff talking about it well into the New Year.

Thanks again for your continued support and we look forward to seeing all of you at the Bistro!

New Addition to the Bistro Staff

Hello Everyone,

I feel terrible, I just noticed that my last post was sometime back in April... I have been extremely busy and otherwise pre-occupied with our new addition. Our baby girl Emily Marie Rideout, who was born May 12, 2009 at 5lbs 10.5oz. She is doing very well and has been steadily gaining weight. She was weighed today and is 8lbs 10oz and growing by the second.

So far the summer has been treating us well. We have been very steady and thouroghly enjoy seeing our summer regulars again. We are now serving our Summer Menu which includes entree's such as Atlantic Salmon with a Brown Sugar and Sweet Paprika Rub with Red Pepper Aioli, and Tenderloin with Fresh Mushrooms & Onion sauteed in Garlic Butter and White Wine Vinegar. For our seafood lovers we have added Calamari with Lemon Aioli and plan on offering a selection of fresh seafood throughout the summer.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far and we look forward to seeing everyone at the Bistro! Take care Folks

Breast Cancer Awareness this Mother's Day

Good day all,

Just wanted to let everyone know that we have planned something very special this mother's day. For every menu that is sold on May 9th and 10th we will be donating 10% of the revenue. We will also be selling bracelets and accepting further donations. Breast Cancer has been prominent in our families and currently Newfoundland has the rate of breast cancer cases in all of Canada so we would like to do our part to support the ongoing research work that is being done to control this disease. We look forward to seeing everyone!

P.S.

If you book your table before May 6th you will entered into a draw for a special mother's day gift!

Valentines Weekend

Sorry for the late post everyone, we have been busy down here in our neck of the woods... Mostly clearing snow out of our parking lot. Valentines had an excellent turn out aside from probably one of the most treachorous storms of the year. We thank everyone who ventured out into the storm to enjoy valentines at The Old Mill Ruins Bistro. Unfortunatley due to the severe weather we have been having we also had to postpone our live @ the Bistro event with Dan Bursey, but we are actively trying to pick a new date. Dan has been very busy himself, between a few shows in St. John's and his trip out to Cornerbrook for East Coast Music Awards. We will let everyone know as soon as we have a new date set. Thanks again everyone for stopping by to read our blog and we look forward to seeing you at the Bistro.

P.S

2009

Hello All,

Well 2008 has come and gone and another year has begun. 2008 was a great year for us hear at the Bistro. We met many people, and made many friends. We thank everyone who has visited for their patronage. New Years Eve was better then we could have expected. The only unfortunate part was that we could not seat everyone who wanted to join us. With almost 10 tables on the waiting list it was a very busy night. We have many special events planned for 2009 including a wine and cheese pairing night and possibly some live Entertainment. We look forward to seeing all of you this year and wish everyone a blessed and exciting new year.
